Question:
I'm a newbie here...(lucky me) and I just went to the ER yesterday for treatment. they have not officially gotten my test results, but the nurses were 99% sure it's H. They treated me w/ a ton of antibiotics and this morning I got up to pee, and peed a dark red/brown color. Blood? A reaction? the antibiotics? anyone experience this? I'm scared. I am debating calling the ER back. If anyone is online right now, please respond. thanks.

The anitbiotics can change the color of your urine and feces. Nitrofurantoin-bid (macrobid) does this. I am currently taking it for a UTI. Along with meds for and OB my very first oh isnt it lovely.

thanks! I actually called the ER this morning and that's what the nurse said too. In a very demented kind of way, it helps knowing that others are going through the same hell I am right now. My latest lovely feeling (on top of the burning and shooting pain) is nausea...do to the pain meds i guess. just keep on throwing up the liquids I"m drinking, since I'm too afraid to eat anything so I don't have to have a BM...way too painful too. this is hell. I am so miserable!!! (and everyone else is out having fun on this Friday night.) :( ok, that's my pity party. thanks again

Yes, I am having a blast with mine... NOT. The meds seem to help keep the stool soft so the crapping doesn't hurt so bad, and my morning bowl of raisin bran helps too. I've been searching the net now cause I seem to have a lovely rash all over my body today. I think its the meds.
