Doctors ignore me

Question:
Hi guys. I think I need some help from someone who actually knows about this because apparently the docs won't help me.

I had a herpes podrome several months ago- all the tingling, itching, and burning down there. It was VERY painful. However with some acycloivir it got under control. To my knowledge I didn't get any blisters or anything weird.

However I do have some kind of ulcers in my mouth, with a scab that just won't leave, but I never had any blisters there.

The thing is the dermatologists I go to seem to think i'm making it up or something, they say they don't see anything. I'm 100% sure I had a herpes podrome, and i'm having a second one right now that is actually getting out of control but I won't get into it.

Are herpes blisters always the same watery things? I don't have that, but it's always itching everywhere and I treat it with acycloivir that i get at the pharmacy, and it always gets better with it. But - get this - my dermatoligist is insinuating i'm crazy and prescribed me some drug.

This is just... insane.
Thanks.

Answer:
Just go to the doctors and ask to be tested for all std's and tell them to make sure to give you the blood test for herpes in that... that should then give you the herpes answer....

Answer:
you know, I beat this dead horse into the ground, but I feel it is worth it: Try your local Planned Parenthood (if you have one near where you live) rather than a dermatologist. One, it will probably be cheaper. 2) they will treat you with respect and courtesy. 3) it is all women and that can be comforting/relieving for you as a woman. 4) they won't BS you....it will be straight to business and they will test you and if you do have herpes, they will get you help and medicine (if you need it.) I believe they are now doing the blood testing for HSV as well, so...even if you do not get blisters they can still find out for you.

I wish you luck.

Answer:
We don't really have planned parenthood here in Europe. I realize it must be better in America... the doctors so far have been mostly cold and unsympathetic.

I did get blood tested in the end but it's going to take a little while. I'm 100% sure I got this crap anyway. Now i'm getting the familiar tingling, like ants, all over the body. It's terrible and if i'm getting it all over I don't know what i'm going to do.

What I don't get is the awareness campaigns for STDs that can be easily prevented with a condom but nobody talks about this that you can get with and without condom- which happened to me. It's like a sick joke on people.
