Read everything I could find but still unsure
Question: I had protected sex with somebody about 8 days ago, and about 5 days ago I noticed a breakout of acne-like bumps in my pubic area. There are only blemishes in my pubic hair region, around the base of my penis (only the top part that's visible to me when I look down) and just two or three on one of my thighs near my pubic area. They rememble white heads, and very well could be. Of all I've read on Herpes symptoms, this doesn't fit the description in my mind. I am barely itchy (I may have to itch from the dryness the acne-like stuff has caused around the base of my penis perhaps 2-3 times a day). The bumps go away but new ones appear; it has slowed down now, though, to where there are only about 4 blemishes I can see, down from about 15. I had no pain or discomfort from them, other than when I squeezed at them back around day 2 to see if it was acne or what. The same whitish fluid pimples have came out of these, so I left it alone as to not spread it. I have no scabbing, pain while urinating, and there are no marks left behind from the blemishes. I am not very prone to acne anymore, though I had it terribly about 6 years ago, when I was 15. I had no symptoms of a weakened immune system (cold and flu symptoms), and I have never had cold sores. The only reason I am worried that this COULD be herpes is it appeared two days after I had sex. The person I had sex with I got to know intimately and trust when she says she's never had any symptoms of the STD; is it possible she had no symptoms at all? Are there cases of the disease in which symptoms are not so discomforting and comparable to what is ailing me? I am a student who lives on his own and finances are very tight; is there somewhere I can get tested for a reasonable wad of cash? If so, how much? All help is appreciated, thank you all in advance! -Randall Answer: Do you have a health clinic or planned parenthood you can go to , to get tested? If you are a student, then they will work with you on finances (probably won't charge you ...just ask for a donation) Doesn't sound like the herps, but you never know, everyone is different. Best to check so to be safe and not worry. And yes, a person can have herpes but have NO symptoms of it...and still pass it on. This disease just sucks. good luck to you, I hope you can talk to/see someone about this. Answer: randall, i'm in the same boat as you. looked at all the pix i could and read all the info i could but still not sure. doesn't really sound like herpes but what else could it be. these are raised bumps, some w/ white heads and they're not grouped together as would be typical. only thing is, i don't think mine had puss in it - i tried to squeeze them hoping they were pimples but they seemed solid and came out in one piece. gross i know. additionally, they say outbreaks last ~2wks. these have been with me about 2 months now and although the original bumps are gone, new ones appear but not as many. let me know if u find out what it is please, i have to go 2 a clinic too but am putting it off b/c of fear. Answer: I sure hope someone can post with some answers, very similar. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
