herpes-but never sexual with anyone?
Question: im 15, female, and never have had any type of sex (not oral, vaginal, nothing) yet i have all the symptoms of herpes on the outer lips of my vagina there like big painful, itchy blisters but theres only one or two not clusters. i told my mom about it and she took me to my child doctor and she said it looked like herpes but i told her it couldnt possibly be because ive never done ANYTHING with ANYONE. so i have to go to a gyno soon. do you have any idea what it could be or any help or has anyone has anyone had my same situation. thank you Answer: I am not sure what to say about this, as I do not have much knowledge in regards to something like this, and do not want to say anything that might hurt you or your feelings. You have never had ANY sexual contact with anyone? Not even maybe dry humping with the clothes off? That can pass it on to you. Do you get coldsores on your mouth at all. If so, maybe you touched one there, then touched yourself on your vagina? Your gyno can set it up so you have bloodwork to determine whether or not you have herpes 1 or 2. Has there ever been any sort of sexual abuse at any time in your life? Any kind at all. I hate to ask you that, but when I hear of a young person as yourself, who has never been with anyone, say they have herpes, this is my first fear. I hope I am wrong, and just an old worry wart. Maybe someone else here can shed some advice better than I . I am sorry if you DO have this...doesn't seem to fair to me if you do. Answer: nooo absolutely not...thats why i dont know what it is. if ive been in any sexual contact like touching kissing or anything i would think it could be herpes. but ive never been touched period in any sexual way by anyone so i have a strong feeling it isnt...can folliculitis be mistaken for herpes anyone? Answer: Thank god! (that there was no abuse.) I think a gyno should be able to test you and let you know for sure what it is. Get into one asap, and if they can't see you , get yourself to a planned parenthood asap. Just for your own peace of mind. At 14, you are probably ready to start seeing a gyno anyways. So it would be good to go in, get this checked, as well as have them check and make sure your cervix is ok, things like that. You will find your gyno is very easy to talk to (in comparison to a regular doctor) and can answer SO many of your questions you may have...nothing is weird for them (well, most of them) :D They have heard it all. I hope this all turns out ok. Crossing my fingers for you. Also if you ever DO have sex, please please PLEASE practice safe. Condoms are not foolproof, BUT, they are pretty damn close, and STDS run rampant amongst the young. Many teens and young 20 somethings think they are invincible....but we see more and more teens contracting HIV/HSV/HPV (no cure for any of these whatsoever) So be careful and let us knwo how things turn out.
