HSV2 and cancer?

Question:
I have a question..
I read on the web that if you have HPV and HSV2 you are more at risk for cancer. Is this true?

UGH I am interested because my grandmother (dads mom) died young from cancer. She birthed 8 children and misscarried 3 or 4.Well I have 5 children. When I was 16 yrs old I found out I had genital warts. These were up inside on my cervix which were checked and found non-cancerous then froze.I am 31 now and found out a few months ago I have HSV2 but my pap smear at the time was normal. So I am concered with the past warts and now HSV2 are my chances for cancer alot higher then someone who hasnt had any STD?

sorry if this seems dumb im new to it all

thanks

Answer:
it's my understanding that herpes has nothing to do with cancer. HPV is however, the leading cause of cervical cancer - BUT those can easily be detected and treated with annual paps for women.

Herpes and HPV are two very different viruses. Not to be confused with one another.

Hope this answers your question
