i think i have herpes although i never had sex or any genital contact.
what are your suggestions?

I'm new to this as well, but I think you generally have to have some skin to skin contact. Though you may not have had genital contact, if you or the person you were with touched his/her herpes sore and then touched you, I believe you can get herpes. I hope you don't have it as well, but sometime when you think you are having an outbreak (when you have sores) you might want to go to a doctor. I can understand you might not want to ask you dad, and if he is your primary physician than go to a county clinic or planned parenthood or something. It's worth knowing so you know whether or not to worry.
