Question: ok I made out with a girl that had this red bump, sore, blister w.e on her lip.. I don't know. Can anyone diagnose this as herpes or could it be something else? I'm so upset, pissed off and scared right now. Can genital herpes be transfered through kissing exclusively btw? Answer: What did the doctor say? Angela  Answer: Not a good thing to kiss peoples sores. I would say that it is probably Herpes type 1. I believe that Herpes type 2 is much easier to spread, and yes, it could also be genital herpes on her lip. You can spread either type from one part of your body to another, or transmit either type through oral sex. A test at the doc's is the only way to know for sure though. Monster Answer: Not a good thing to kiss peoples sores. I would say that it is probably Herpes type 1. I wouldn't say that at all. That sore could be anything which is why there is no way a person can ask for a diagnosis over the internet. We can sit here and speculate all day as to what it might be and she won't know until she has a doctor take look, right? I believe that Herpes type 2 is much easier to spread, How so? and yes, it could also be genital herpes on her lip. IF (and that's a BIG if) she has oral herpes statisticly it's probably herpes simplex virus type-1. You can spread either type from one part of your body to another, Sure but contracting herpes simplex virus type-2 orally is rare and even if it were to happen then chances are the person would only have one outbreak if any at all. or transmit either type through oral sex. HSV-1 and HSV-2 and the differences Hope that link helps.. A test at the doc's is the only way to know for sure though. Oh I TOTALLY agree with that statement!! Angela :D Answer: Angela, I'm just giving my opinion on here. More than likely it is type 1 on her lip, I'm sure she didn't bite it! I have MANY years of experience with this crap, I'm offering that to these n00bs to try and help. My experience with Herpes is real, and I will continue to offer my experiences with it despite what you think or say. Most of your posts are just, SEE A DOCTOR, if they want to discuss the possibilities, I don?t see any harm in that. We can all learn from others experience. Much of what I share is based on facts, too. I realize you are trying to help and I think that's great! One thing I try to stay away from is giving folks the impression that I know what they have for sure. We can sit here and discuss what they might have and if that's the case then perhaps we should list all the possibilities vs giving them the impression that it's positively whatever it is we "think" it is. Bottom line is that they should really see a doctor and we should encourage them to, ya know? I also agree we can learn from one another's experiences which is why I try and share mine making it clear that what I go through isn't necessarily going to be the case for all that have herpes. Glad to see that you care, Angela :D Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
