I am trying to see some positives in this. I've been reading several message boards, and even asked terri warren and on the hhp forum regarding ghsv-1 transmission. I was very relieved to hear that it is very rare to transmit hsv1 genital to genital. On the hhp forum, one person said that in the 5 years of the message board, it happened only a handful of times, and these were during the primary with shaving. Another post said it shouldn't even be a worry.

Anyway, I hope I don't make anyone with ghsv2 feel bad, but I want to tell people with ghsv1 this good news.

Yeah, even my doctor (OBGYN) told me the same thing. It is nice to know. But there is always a possibility which is why any new person in your life should be told about the risks.

thannks. i got ghsv1 from my boyfriend who had it orally, and i really dont want to give it back to him genitally, so this was uplifting, thank you!
