Insurance and Herps

Question:
So I went to my doc for a physical, and requested an HSV test as part of the battery of blood tests. Due to the fact that he had to look up the testing code and hand write it on the bottom of the test request form, gives me the idea that these labs don't typically do hsv blood tests. The lab name is CPL (clinical pathology laboratories)...

Aside from the worrying about accuracy of the tests, i'm worried about how insurance companies view HSV. This is my first month of coverage, and I'm having an HSV test done...can they drop my policy if it comes back positive? Does any body have any expperience with premiums being raised, etc. The worst part is that i'm self employed and buy my own insurance, and its not cheap as it is.

FYI, I have oral hsv1 visually diagnosed, so i'm not too worried about it coming back HSV2, if that makes a difference..

Until now, I have a perfectly clean bill of health as far as insurance companies are concerned, just wondering if anybody has any light to shed from past experience...

thx.

Answer:
insurance companies make money off of u when u are sick> so they arent going to drop u cause of it. they would lose tons of money if they did that to everyone

i have it> i have insurance and ive never had a problem w/ it except when i went to refill the rx the lady said i had to wait a day because the insurance company wouldnt cover it a day earlyer (even though it ran out)
