Question:
Hey guys,

Well, I'm hoping for some kinda of direction here. Let me start with the background. Begining of last january 2006 (so just about a yr ago) I had intercourse one time with this girl I don't know too well (a friend of a friend and this was the first and only time i have had it) stupid decision I know. We were both 19 at the time (20) now. I used a condom but the next morning i was feeling kind of itchy all over if i remember correctly. At any rate i had been experiencing a tingly feeling off and on the front of my scrotum sometimes i want to say maybe burning a little but i had already read the herpes symptoms and was starting to get convinced. I checked all the time but i never saw any kind of bumps nor had any pain. However bc of the persisting tingly and scratchy feeling i went to my school doctor at the end of march. I had a full std test for everything. Blood test for herpies came back neg for HSV1 and HSV2 and doctor says the redness on my scrotum doesnt look like herpes. So I write this about a yr later and pretty much every day since then, i have a pretty constant tingling in my scrotum that never goes away and i get this scratchy irritating feeling where the tingling is that will sometimes last like an hour or so and look very red and irritated, then stop for awhile and be fine with the redness almost clearing up instantly, and then start again, and this will all happen multiple times a day - everyday. During the periods of irritation my hair folicals are pronounced in the area. It's starting to take a real psychological toll on me. I've been to the dermatologist and the same school doctor who refered me to the dermotologist and have taken a lotion for itching with doesnt seem to work and a steriod cream for jock itch which hasn't worked. Last time I went to the dermo was in june-july time. I've waited for improvement but the constant day to day description stays the same. Just wondering if this sounds like herpes to you guys. I can't think of anything else.

Thank you for your time and opinions.

Answer:
Get tested - that's the only way of finding out.
