I was dumped by my girlfriend of 2 years back in July of 06. I was really upset and I wasnt in my right state of mind and in August I had unprotected sex with a girl I met a few times.

Her and I continued for about a month having protected sex (only the first night was unprotected). Once I found out her shady history I broke it off with her. Since then I have met a new (old ex girlfriend from a long time ago), her and I have had lots of sex since September. Just today the shady girl told me she she has herpes and she thinks she caught it from me. Not true since I was tested before I got with shady girl.

Anyway it's Jan it's been since August and I have no symptoms, and the girl I am with now has none either. I was wondering if I should worry or not. I mean, I can imagine this girl has had at least 3 guys since me, she could have got it from them.

Ideas? I'm going to get tested anyway but......

Even if you used a condom, you could still get infected from shady girl (Herpes is contracted from skin-to-skin contact, not bodily fluids) so your idea to get tested is a good one.

yeah I understand. Its interesting because I didnt know much about herpes til this scare. i didnt realize how easy it was to catch. skin to skin is pretty easy.

Yea make sure the tests you got included herpes-blood specific. Most clinics don't include that when you go and get "everything" tested. Also, that test takes a couple months to show up in your system so go ahead and get it again.

Well, she had protected sex with me once, and I got it. And then had unprotected sex numerous times with boyfriend over the course of the next several months and he never contracted it. Looks like I got the shit end of the stick there, eh?

With these things you never know, just go and get a blood-specific type test.

I am tired of the doctors saying that it does not mean that you got it from your current partner, but you did not have any symptoms or positive results before and if your ob is bad, then you were recently exposed. All of this is crazy to me and I wish that the doctors would become for informed about this virus. I do not think people even know how it can be contracted or even if the test are reliable and it is very frustrating to know that some people have come in contact with the virus and did not get it, but others did get it even when they used a condom.
