Functioning at Work

Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions for coping with HSV2 at work? I sit at a computer chair ALL day.....and damn...it hurts. I am in an extreme amount of pain. Anyone dealing with the same thing? Any remedies? :-(

Answer:
can u not go to work?
like take some medical leave.

Answer:
No, I cant take off work just for an outbreak. I just need some ideas for coping WHILE at work. Any suggestions?

Answer:
well if ur outbreak is so serious that u cant function at work> why would u want to sit there and be in pain, if u can at least be in pain comfortably in the privacy of ur own place.

ideas>
either drug urself up really good, and deal with it.

try and use some ointment like a&d, to keep the sores from sticking/rubbing against eachother, but using ointment, might keep the ob from healing quicker.

and try and not move. friction sucks, so if ur gonna sit. try and not move as much as possible, really there is nothing u can do to make the situation better.

Answer:
Well thank you for the hope and encouragement.

Answer:
Dude I know exactally how you feel. I was laid off at the time of my first and only outbreak so I was lucky but it stresses me out to think of having to actually sit through all that pain for a full days work. People say life goes on but how are we supposed to take off work for this shit? So embarresing and inconveinent. I am looking for some answers too and it seems nobody has them. I'm just as floored as you. This whole thing makes me feel so helpless.

Answer:
Hi.

My sympathies.. I work through it. I teach trampolining so it's hard as I get hot sweaty and itchy even when having a mild OB..
I don't seem to have bad symptoms just tiny sore red sometimes open little patches either side of my vagina but it's very very painful.. and I can't seem to shift them at all.. had them mostly for 5 months or so.. any ideas anyone?

Answer:
Hi there,

I feel for you, dealing with an outbreak while sitting at a computer all day. I went through it too about a month ago during my first outbreak (or at least the first one i knew of--I must have gotten it at least 2 years ago but never had a sympton).

I'm hoping you're a girl, because if so I have a suggestion for you. Try wearing a skirt with very loose undies, or none if you can get away with it. Then sit with your legs spread apart at your desk. No one will notice, I promise. This helped for me.

Good luck!

Answer:
Hi gavinsmama...
One thing I have done is to bring a bottle of tea tree oil to work with me and apply it to my sores when I have a bathroom break. If you can't stand the odor, maybe you can find some other soothing cream or ointment that can be applied. It's hard, I know. The tea tree oil is very soothing for me and the effects last quite a while.
Good luck...
