Question:
Hi Everyone,
I have been living with a severe case of HSV-2 for about 14mths now, and have been taking Valtrext just as long.
Before I contracted HSV-2 I was ill frequently (colds, flus, etc.)- since being on Valtrex I do not get ill near as often. The doctors say that is because it is an anti-viral drug. HOWEVER, since then when I get a cold I end up with fevers and am very ill. My doctor says the two are not related, but before HSV-2 I had not had a fever in 10-15 years.
Also before a really bad breakout I get a slight fever and a really sore throat.

Just wondering if anyone else experiences these types of things???
or any other odd seemingly related illnesses...?

I have only had my first OB-but I got a horrible fever for about a day. And I was ALSO sick to my stomach-I thought I had the flu at first!

got a fever my first outbreak and slight one a few times after. A fever is your bodies natural response to try and regulate your body temp when your immune system is fighting stuff off. Also, the sore throat is probably due to swollen glands, which become inflamed when your immune system is working overtime. so it is very normal to have those symptoms when you have outbreaks.......its just not as common for some people to experience. it means your body is trying its hardest to fight.

the past couple of days ive been feeling puny with a sore throat and lately it has escalated into something like a sinus infection. today i noticed one itsy bitsy bumpy ouchie in my private area. im going to be so annoyed its another outbreak.

I've only had one outbreak so far, but i did have a fever of about 103 for three or four days and i had chills the whole time. not funnn

I had a horrible fever at the very beginning of my OB (I ALSO had chills and I was sick to my stomach!). It only lasted a day but it was STILL horrible!

I have experienced a fever, stomach ache, and sore throat during ob's. I am currently having an ob right now. In fact, I really do not know when my ob stopped from my initial diagnosis. It stopped for a short while and it seems as if my menstrual cycle causes my ob's. So, by the time they are gone, my menstrual cycle comes back and I start all over again. Not only do I get the above symptoms, but my back, hips, legs, arms, and the back of my head hurts. I never thought this virus was cause so much pain.

i'm sorry everyone else gets as sick as I do but at the same time, it's nice to know i'm not totally alone...
ya i hate it b/c its hard not to let it interfer with your life when you have a temp.
