ok, owwwww...... please help....

Question:
hi all, i believe i may have herpes.... my husband did a bad bad thing... he cheated on me... we are working on that. he received oral sex from a girl that had a cold sore... well, about a month after he did this, he got a blister, it lasted about a week, we did have sex during that time, before we noticed the bump, and now, almost a month since his blister, i have what i THOUGHT was a yeast infection, only it is on the outside, like on the inside of the lips but outside of the vaginia. It is RED, and REALLY painful, i have tried vagisil, it only burns more with that, it hurts REALLY bad when i pee. And I have had a fever of about 101.1 for the last 2 days, feeling tired and yucky....

the only relief i have found is using my daughters balmex (diaper rash cream) on it, and it only helps a little. I will of course not use that tube of cream on her anymore, i will open a new one.

Does this sound like herpes? And if it does, what remedies have you found for the pain? this is almost making me cry when i try to walk.

Also, we do not have insurance at this time, hopefully in about a moth we will, until then, i can only do over the counter :-(

thanks in advance!!

Answer:
Maybe you could go to a clinic like planned parenthood - they will work with you a lot w/ no insurance - it could be yeast, i was told that over the counter yeast stuff can actually casue some women to have a bad reaction making it worse. But w/ the possibility you were exposed - and the fever and aches - go to a clinic while the symptoms are present. I am no doc but ive read that a coldsore is most likely hsv1 and it is uncomman, not impossible, to spread it to your genitals - but if you do have hsv1 on your genitals there is a good chance of few, if any more outbreaks. Ive read here that advil on a regular basis can help a lot w/ pain, but it still could be yeast. Do some research, but be careful which websites you read - and read richards "sticky" article in the mean time. Hang around here, it helps a lot. Take care and try to stay positive.

Answer:
if you used a short term yeast cure - 1-3 days, it could be burning from that. Try a 7 day kind - it is more mild - clear water baths, etc. keep the area dry. If it continues see the doc.

My worry is the fever - indicative of an infection. You probably need antibiotics if the fever continues. If this is the case - skip the first paragraph and see a doc before you get any sicker.
