Hi,
I just got diagnosed this week and there are soo many questions...

If my blister has healed, is it safe to have sex with a condom?
We don't know yet who was the transmitter and if my partner has it or is still "safeable". But our sexdrive is still wild, but we don't want to risk anything.

But since i got diagnosed i feel itching everywhere, is that just my nerves playing tricks on me or is it likely to break out and than break out straight away again in the neighbourhood?

Is it right that it makes no sense to make a bloodtest with my partner until 2 weeks after last contact with the contaminated area?

how safe is it to be touched in the area?

It seems that most of you still enjoy a healthy sex life, which gives me hope and made me put the gun and rope for suicide back into the cupboard...just kidding...

itching means you are contagious....for me and many others....it is a sign usually preceeded by an outbreak..."prodomal signs.

however, some people who dont get typical outbreaks (sores, blisters, etc.) experience no visible signs sometimes but feel itching, see redness, feel paper cut like marks but see nothing when you look at the area that hurts, or sometimes there is no sign of anything and you cant feel anything but those are outbreaks too.

Asymptomatic shedding, which occurs in between the visible outbreaks, a certain percentage of the time, is when you are contagious but have no way of knowing....kind of like Russian roulette...so that is probably the worst thing about having it....not knowing when you are shedding without symptoms.) if your outbreak was on an area that a condom covers and the outbreak has visibly subsided, then with a condom you have more of a chance of not spreading it, but nothing is 100% safe when you have this. Good luck....hope this helps a little bit in understanding it. There are a ton of posts on here that can help you understand it better just from readind posts.

Unfortunatly the worry about infecting my partner has gone- too late. Tomorrow we have an appointment and can finally talk to someone who knows and doesn't treat you like a stupid little foreigner who runs around catching deseases, which I am neither of, except being english second language.
