Hello, I had un-protected sex 6 months ago, and developed a bacteria infection from it. I went to my gyno for a culture, and I was tested for ghonn. and chlamydia, and am happy to be negative on both. He said that everything else on my pap smear looked normal, so I was given metro gel. Then shortly after, I had to go to my primary care physician because I had swollen lymph glands in the axillary. I was also given an antibiotic for that. Both went away, and I have not had any sex since the time 6 months ago that I was worried about, and I got the bacteria infection again, along with a yeast infection, and the swollen glands in the groin and armpits. Again I receved treatments for all and am waiting for it to go away. My question is can you detect herpes from a pap smear or should I go back and get tested? I was tested for ghonn. chlamydia, and had a pap smear that came out normal with high bacteria levels due to the infection. (all at the same time) and was tested for HIV and syphillis at my primary care physicians office when I went in for the armpits. Again I'm happy to be negative for those also. Is it true that if I have herpes, my gyno would know from my pap smear, or should I go back for a special test? I have no bumps or cold sores, ulcers or any of the symptoms but if you had any info I would appreciate it. Thanks, Aimee.

okay thankyou, now I need to wait until I am done with the meds I'm currently on and go get a test but it sucks that the only 100% way to find out is from an open sore, because I've never had one. What do you think?

You can have bloodwork done but you must request a specific test from an STD clinic, that test will only check for antibodies used to fight the virus... Most STD clinics dont do blood test for herpes... I recommend you boost your immune system, goto a health food store and ask them how, they will tell you, I'm not gonna go into details... I also recommend you goto the gym, try some cardio and work with weights... The only reason I'm tellin you to do this is I want to see if you develope any other commplications from this bacteria... If you do that means your immune system is never fully killing (caging your bacteria infection) from what your telling me your struggling in the last bit fighting this thing which tells me your immune system isn't fighting off the bacteria completly, or your thinking your ok so you go out drink and party when your not fully cured but you feel ok... If you continue to have complications around you genitilia go and get a blood test done if you wish, you've read my article you know what I think of em... To be honest, I dont think you have herpes, try not to think about it....

None of my symptoms are going away, not the armpits the bacteria infection feels a little better but not fully. Now everyone in the house has strep throat so I went to the doctor to get a throat culture and I also got a herpes blood test. I don't have strep throat but I find out the results of my herpes blood test on Friday which is the day that I also am going back to the gynocologist about this bacteria infection. I hate this feeling inside about worrying to death, and thinking about how your life could change! My doctor said that you could have herpes and not know it, so that's my main concern since I don't have any other signs. This sucks huge and I'm really beating myself up about it and the day seems so long!!!
