Question:
I'm new to this board, and i have cold sores on my mouth. I have been to the doctor and he said, I have herpes. But i asked which one and he couldn't tell me just that I had herpes. And to comeback if it persists.

But he didn't say since you have herpes, we should also check for HIV. Can you get HIV AND HERPES through oral sex?

And is there anyone on this dianosed with both at the same time?

you can get hiv from anything really- all you have to do is exchange fluid/blood--oral sex is in that list but its on the low side- unless you went ahead biting someones genitals, and managed to cut them then, you have a issue... and cold sores are usually type 1 but the tests would be able to tell you specifically.

if you get a test for herpes, just mention you would like a hiv test aswell.
