OK.. ok.. ok its me again.
I have this whitehead looking (comedone) thing on the edge of my lip, right side i guess on the vermillion border. I first noticed it in November.
I was worried it was a cold sore so I went to the doctor, he said it looked like a comedone.

Then in January, it still hadn't gone so I went to another doctor who said it looked like a comedone as well. I'd have to agree, because it had a pin sized hole in the middle. I still have it, so its been more then three months. NO change to it whatsoever (no healing or scabbing).

Here are my thoughts can you please help me:
reason it could be cold sores:
- located on vermilion border

reasons why its probably not a cold sore:
- been more then 3 months with no change whatsoever
- pin-sized hole in middle
- now has a white head
- really looks like a pimple

I'm again worried because I think i irritated it by scratching it so its red now, but it has a white head.
Any thoughts somebody? I know people like to think that symptoms -> herpes on this forum... but other then the location of it, it doesnt sound like cold sores.. and I mean I do grow hairs close to the lip line, and even on the vermillion border.

cold sores only last 7 -10 days of so. what you are describing is not a cold sore but is a type of comedomal lesion where a pore gets clogged with a collagenous material, not typical cebum

it was red now its all white..
I think I irritated thats why it got bigger but now its all white
My doc said if i were to pop it white stuff would come out.. ah man its so big

so i just popped it.. it hurts, but that discharge was white. now its bleeding.
I guess it does resemble some other pimples i had, just this one near my lip/on it sort of
but yeah Im thinkin its nto a cold sore thanks for your response

one more thing, after i popped it, i wiped off the white stuff and there is some minor bleeding like a regular pimple. and some clear discharge, but that is still normal for a pimple right?

I mean the white, thick, discharge before should tell me its some kind of comedone / pimple because i swear ive had that before on other parts of my face

ahh another thing
i went to a general walk in clinic and had this doctor look at it..
she wouldn't even listen to what i have to say and said it was a cold sore..
but it still didn't make sense, but i was now even more worried.

So i went to the STD clinic.. the best in the city, and the doctor said it wasn't.
she said it was filled with puss that a pimple has, and it did not look a cold sore at all.. i made her say it a couple times hah..

I even asked if she could swab it and she said it wasnt and didnt swab it..
sigh i wish she just swabbed it

once the virus runs it's course, it comes and goes pretty quickly (6-7 days) and this does not sound like a viral infection.

Please relax! What you have is NOT herpes. I repeat, NOT herpes. I am not a doctor, but what you have described is not a herpes lesion in any way, shape or form. I hope you can unwind a bit...you'll make yourself ill with all this stress!
