Pimple?? Or Herpes??
Question: Hi everyone, I'm awaiting test results, but I'm driving myself insane wondering whether I have herpes or not. Here's the story: First week in January, I had unprotected oral and vaginal sex with someone. They had been in a monogamous relationship for the past three years, and have never shown any symptoms of STDs of any kind. I respect and trust this person, although I understand that it is very possible to have herpes and not show any symptoms at all. A few weeks later, I got drunk and found myself sleeping with someone. Bad mistake. However, we used protection and the condom did not break or tear. That occured around January 14th. I've had no other sexual activity since then. I've had absolutely no symptoms until roughly 12 days ago (mid february), when i noticed a large, red, pimple-like bump on the shaft of my penis, about an inch from the base. It did not hurt. After a few days it had grown larger, and I popped it - white pus came out and a little blood afterwards. A few days later, I noticed it had refilled under the scab and I popped it again. Again, it did not hurt. There was only one pimple. I had no other symptoms at all. It did not ooze any fluid on its own accord, only when i popped it and it immediately scabbed over. I went and got tested as soon as I could, but it had already scabbed over and the clinician said that, since it had already begun healing, that it could "Be anything" and that they couldn't swab it as there was no pus. She told me it was most likely a zit, but I find out the results of the blood test in another week. It's currently still there, but healing. The scab has fallen off and it looks slightly indented in the middle of the lesion, which has turned pinkish, like a healing pimple. No pus, fluid, or blood. I wouldn't be quite so worried, except I just spoke to the person I slept with while drunk, and told her what happened. She said that she noticed a pimple on her vagina a few days after we had sex, and that it was sore, but it cleared up on its own in a few days - she also said she's "had them before, but was only concerned because she'd just been with me." That freaked me out. Apparently the doctor she tried to go to wouldn't take her insurance so she hasn't been tested, yet. She swears that she was a virgin before our encounter, which makes me feel even worse, as I would hate to have given her something, especially her first time! That really depresses me and makes me feel like a real jerk.. I know all speculation is really pointless until the test results come back, but I'm losing a lot of sleep over this and would like to hear your opinions. I'm also worried because the blood tests seem to typically be inconclusive... Answer: sounds like what i had pimple or boil on the shaft (top part) just above the base.. little bit up exactly like what I had I went to two different doctors ( one of them twice) and both said it was NOT herpes said it was a pimple, cyst, boil, ingrown hair .. whatever i called the sexual health hotline (yeah i worry alot haha) and the counsellor was like sounds nothing like herpes at all.. more like an ingrown hair now, I still have a mark (its been 4-5 months since i noticed it) so i KNOW its not herpes. Hair is growin out of mine.. so look for that too. The doc gave me an antibiotic cream but I havn't gotten rid of it completely If i were you I wouldn't worry Herpes CAN RESEMBLE pimples... but does not CAUSE a single PIMPLE like that. if it drained like a pimple its probably a pimple i say chances of it being herpes is very low sounds like what I had so hopefully that eases your mind. and yes you can grown hair on your penis.. I do =/ Answer: blood tests are more times than not right on....it is possible that sometimes tests can be inconclusive but more times than not they are right so dont be too worried about that.. I also would NOT rule out herpes because the other girl also had a pimple like thing occur after sex with you.......just doesnt seem like a coincidence to me....but ya never know. She should be tested immediately too....... there are free clinics...if there is not one right in your area there will be one close by.....or theres always planned parenthood so there are options.....but definitely have her get tested....also, just because someones a virgin doesnt mean they couldnt have got it from other ways....and also REMEMBER a condom DOES NOT protect against herpes.....only if the area infected is completely covered and even that is not a guarantee when it comes to this.....especially it worries me because the location of your "pimple" is not where the condom would have covered. Just wait for the tests and have those girls also get herpes specific blood tests. good luck Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
