Is this genital herpes?
Question: Finally I came across this site after hours of searching symptoms and getting even more worried. I had unprotected oral 15 months ago and 2 weeks ago my penis started to feel raw. It feels like it is burning sometimes and there has been a clear discharge for a few days. I went to see the doctor and he said it was fungal and gave me cream. He also did a swab of the discharge to check for herpes and fungus. A few days ago, a white patchy rash appeared on the head and I put the fungal cream on it. It seems to have gone away but now foreskin is red and swollen. I am wondering if these symptoms are consistant with genital herpes? Please help... I dont get the results until next week and the waiting is agonizing. Answer: white patchy rash like? http://www.abcpedia.com/virus/virus-genital-herpes.jpeg http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...3D1Xr%26sa%3DG then yes....that GH. Answer: No it didnt look like that. More like flaky skin. What about the other symptoms - burning, redness, swollen? Answer: buring redness swollen are symptoms of Lots of things. herpes yes... but def other things to. Answer: Update: I got a test done at an STD clinic that came out negative for HSV-1, HSV-2, and any sign of a recent infection. I have no idea what kind of test it was (they drew my blood and I came back in two weeks). ANyways that was around beginning of March to mid-March. The problem is I am still having irritation and redness. My doc, seems to think its the remnets of a fingal infection and has been giving me an anti-inflamitory (non-steroid forget the name). But now this rash, tenderness and swollen feeling around my anus and on my penis has been going for almost four months. I also noticed that it seemed to be getting worse the last few days and I've had a headache and felt nauseous for the last 24 hours. My question, could this be genital herpes? even after the negative test results (i.e. false negative?) and could this headache, worsing rash, nauseous be a new ob even though it never went away in between? Answer: yes it could, especially if your putting on things, that just irritate the outbreak. false negatives are very common. get tested again, and then maybe again and again. Answer: an ob could be constant for 4 months? Answer: above was a question -- so can an ob be constant for four months? Answer: technically yes it could last that long or look like it is lasting that long but is really many ob's all running together. there are foods that can trigger ob's as well as other reasons. you may want to consider getting tested again or see another dr to discuss this problem. There is also the possibility that you are having a problem with candida which could cause itching and will not go away on its own. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
