got tested today...still have some questions
Question: I got tested today for genital herpes, which i would have recieved from my boyfriend who has had cold sores on his mouth before... I found a blister on my inner thigh and another one showed up so I went to the health center as fast as i could. So i could possibly have HSV-1 genitally.... but what is the difference between HSV1 genitally and HSV2 genitally is one better/worse? I find out my test results in a week and am hoping for the best Answer: First off, good job for going to get tested! As for HSV1 and HSV2 genitally... HSV1 genitally better. It's not used to being down there, and as such, doesn't have as many outbreaks and might even shed less virus. I've also read on other forums (from other people's experiences, not scientific studies) that genital HSV1, because it's not used to being down there, tends to cause more postherpetic neuralgia (PHN; the twitches and uncomfortable aches). But it varies from individual to individual. Hoping your test goes well! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
