Got my test results

Question:
At 3 weeks do the numbers begin to suggest results/infection?

When infected, do the numbers gradually rise (linearly) during the 12 weeks, or do they remain low for a long period and suddenly rise sharply (exponentially)?

Any comments welcome
Thanks

Answer:
i had low results up to 8 months later, my results were just like yours, then on my 3rd test it came back positive.

agree keep getting the test in intervals

Answer:
Damn - it took 8 months for you to test positive?

Could your infection date have been later than you originally thought?

Sorry to be a pain in the ass but what were your testing intervals?

Thanks WW

Answer:
my first outbreak was aug 03, -- first test was at 6months for a blood test (why it took so long no idea~ but i wasnt having any issues) so then that came back like yours no 2, but a .03 1

then about 3 weeks later i thought i had a outbreak but wasnt positive, so i went and had a culture done, incunclusive

came back 3 weeks later to get a refill, decided id like to get tested again, took a blood test, came back 0-0 for both

then a few more weeks had passed and i was having some irritation down below and decided to get tested again thinking if it was a outbreak it def had to show up. go figure 3.5 for 1- 0 for2

im going to get tested again at a diffrent lab though, or get the western blot
im not very convinced of my test results, and my docs explination.

Answer:
Are you thinking the 3.5 was a false positive?

Are you not sure if you have HSV, or you just want more accurate numbers?

Answer:
im not really sure, id really just like a definite answer you know... like negatives, then a positive, and that a ridiculiously big positive after pretty much 0's. the people at the lab were really starting to get annoyed that i kept coming back....

my doc literaly had no idea what to say to me, he started off with oh you are herpes free dont know why/what happened to you, then telling me i have cold sores. like sorry buddy i went in cause my pussy looked like it was dying.

im just one of those people that has to be 100% or im not satisfied. especially with my health, if your going to say i have a life long virus, it better be proven which i dont feel 100% about from the results.

Answer:
Yea I know what you mean about needing a definite diagnosis. That's why I'm getting a Western Blot at some point. Gotta wait 12 weeks to be sure of the results though.

Answer:
This virus is so weird.. As for exponential or not, I would guess exponential for something like antibody production (just relating it to how we get over the common flu).

Answer:
Now SIXTEEN weeks is the longest I have heard for antibodies to develop:

"In some cases, antibody may take as much as twelve or sixteen weeks to develop, especially if the primary infection was treated with an effective medication. In some rare cases, a person with culture proven, long-lasting, herpes type 2 of the recurrent variety will still have a negative Western blot after the sixteen weeks presumably because they just do not make enough of the necessary antibody for detection. This probably occurs less than 1 percent of the time."
