How to protect my family and friends from the HSV?
Question: Hi! I’m writing to ask about the problem “How to protect my family and friends from the HSV?” I learned my diagnose 2 days ago. Was too shocked to enquire my dr. (How it could be! It’s impossible! All my partners are healthy! Yeah …doc said I might have taken it in a shower in a sport club or even in a transport while holding the hand-rail in a bus…). Now. I’ve started my first (Oh! Gosh!) course of medical treatment (pills, vitamins, ..). I’m aware of the incurability. My fears of future are great! (Is there any man who will love me in such a state? Hope so.. or just dreaming.) But at the moment I’m worried about my family and close friends. I don’t want them to have such a “present” from me.. Feel myself a walking ugly plague. And other people? Now have I got the right to live in hotels etc. ? thanks Answer: ok first, theres no way you can get it taking a shower- unless ur having a shower w/ someone who has herpes. the herpes virus, doesnt really survive outside of the body long, but it is possible, if someone had a coldsore, and touched a handrail, and you touched it like immediatly after, its possible that way. (same goes for sharing drinks, etc) but you can have herpes years (yes, that includes even childhood) and never have anything until now. also- herpes "sheds" so even if any of your partners, never had any outbreaks, they might have had shedding moments, that gave it to you. and u have all the right to live in a hotel- like i said it doesnt survive long so theres no risk, for people after you leave> they clean, and everythings fine. theres just things you need to do. first, dont share towels, u use your own, so should everyone else- if its a bar of soap> use a wash cloth- its pretty common sense, i dont share things that touch my genitals with anyone. never have_ and dont really plan to. if u have oral, dont share your makeup/chapstick, drinks, forks etc. if someone wants to taste your food> let them use there own fork etc. thats all. oh DURING a outbreak, i make sure to wipe down the toilet seat w/ a lysol wipe just to be safe, and clean the sink handles to.
