please help me...Im literally in tears

Question:
So I've had unprotected sex with 3 guys in my life. I got tested for the standard diseases, and I came out clean. However, recentley I've been getting cuts down there on my labia majora and I am scared to death. I have no blisters, no bumps, nothing...exept for these cuts. My skin is naturally very dry so I dunno. What do you guys think this is???? Could it possibly be herpes???? I am sooo scared!!! Do you know if it could be anything else?! I set up an appointment with my doctor but it's in a month due to my work schedule so any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

Answer:
Hi Luv,

I'm new here, and herpes is new to me, so I don't feel like I'm in a position to give advice. However, I wanted to say I wish you could try to get into see your doctor sooner! I understand wanting someone to give you answers here, I'm doing that myself, But I already have been diagnosed.
I really hope your tests come back negative! Then you'll have a chance to do your best to Never get this virus. You may be lucky!

I'm hoping the best for you!

Answer:
Thank you for replying Shayna...I think waiting is the worst part. I am mentally preparing myself in case the results come back as positive. But in addition to what I described, my cuts are not too painful and they only last for a day or two. They've come back maybe three times and go away immediatly. Furthermore, I do wear tight clothing, could it possibly be from that? I don't wanna be making excuses for them but you never know. Gosh I feel like I'm seriously going insane!:(

Answer:
The best thing u can is get a blood test, I wouldn't wait a month. The sooner the better....Everybody's symtoms is different. Just stay strong, its not the end of the world........

Answer:
hi luv, I think the best thing you can do is to get a herpes type specific blood test when you go in a month. If the results are negative, then to be sure wait about 12 weeks and get retested the same way, as it can take that long for antibodies to be able to be detected,....so a negative on the first test does not necessarily mean you dont have herpes. As far as the cuts go, I would say that cuts can definitely indicate herpes, but you cant be sure until your testing is done and repeated once to be sure. I get my herpes syptoms as a rash in the pubic hair region on top of the vagina (looks a lot like razor burn) but I also get cuts around the perineum and anal area that are tiny, sometimes invisible to the naked eye, but sting when I shower or wipe there. The cuts come and go quickly, lasting a day or two usually but they reappear very often (my immune system is compromised so the rate I get them is a lot higher than a person with a good functioning immune system) anyhow, it is very likely it is in fact herpes, so it is good to prepare yourself. If after the second blood test you're still negative ( and havent had sexual contact with anyone in between tests, then it is usually safe to say you dont have it. There are rare cases where someone has it but for whatever reason the antibodies dont show up in the blood tests so just always keep an eye out for anything in the future, should both tests be negative. I know this must be an anxiety filled time for you but I recommend getting your rest, taking care of your health and trying to focus on other things until both results. As tempting as it is to take the first negative result and run with it, its definitelely not a good idea, as for a lot of people the antibodies will take a while to show up, which usually indicates it is a recent exposure if negative at first and then positive on the second test. Having unprotected sex isnt the only way you could have contracted herpes either.....oral sex transmits herpes to the genital area, if a person has it in their mouth and either is or isnt aware they carry the virus there(both type 1 and 2 occur in the mouth). Also, even with a condom it is still possible to contract herpes so dont beat yourself up too much, as it only takes one time doing something sexual with a person who may not even be aware they have the virus to get herpes. Thousands of people on here get herpes from one encounter, or the first time they have sex, or have had only 1 or 2 partners in their life so the virus definitely doesnt discriminate. I got this from my current boyfriend, who i was with for 3 years at the time I contracted this and he had no idea he could even possibly have had anything and until i got what i thought was a yeast infection and was shocked to hear it could be herpes..... and then he got a blood test he would have never had a clue otherwise. The virus only produces symptoms sometimes and that is why so many people contract it, have it slip directly into their nerves to hide, and then either never show visible symptoms, or not appear for weeks, months, or years, all the while leaving the infected person without any idea they could even have anything like it. So its pretty scary to think about....i wish the education about what herpes really is,the vast amount of symptoms it can produce and how it really can be transmitted was out there because the majority of people have no clue about it at all and just think its blisters and sores and "you'd know if you had herpes" which isnt the case at all. Good luck to you. Theres tons of support on here so you will not be alone if you do have herpes.
