Can a blood test be wrong?
Question: I have no symptoms and neither does my wife of several years. She has tested negative and my blood work came back positive. I only got the test done because my doctor recommended it during a routine physical. Answer: it's more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. It is also possible for only one of you to be positive. you, however, did not say what your positive test result was for. It is very common to have hsv1 which is commonly the oral cold sore infection which we've all seen since childhood. This is the same hsv that can be transmitted sexually through oral sex to your partners genitals and then can be transmitted to someone else genitally. it goes on and on. I'd want to know what I have and where. If you know you've always had coldsores or have had them at least once in your life and you have tested positive for hsv 1 it is possible that it is coldsores but hsv1 and hsv2 can be either oral or genital infections and you would not necessarily ever experience ob's it can be there for many years without symptoms. most drs don't test for hsv without a request. i'd be happy my dr was up on stuff he/she sounds like they are trying to do a good job. Answer: Thanks for the reply. They told me it was HSV2. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
