Getting Tests done -- Any Advice??
Question: Hi Guys, So I need to get tested for type specific Herpes. Its been over 3 months since the encounter. I was wondering if anyone had advice about where to get the test done? I don't want to use insurance and do not have a local doctor. Has anyone used these online diagnostics tests before? $249 bucks and they tell you all STDs? Is it a scam and unreliable? or should I just go to the doctor and fork over the $150 for just the Herpes test. Any thoughts or previous stories would be awesome. Thanks you guys Answer: you still have to go to the doctor with those online test. how do you expect to get the blood out of you to be tested? have you had any symptoms? i would just suck it up and use insurance, thats what its their for. so you dont have to pay as much for things. Answer: I realize I'll have to go to a diagnostic center and have blood drawn. I'm just wondering if anyone has used these online "confidential" organizations before: tSTD.org for example I did have the symptoms of HSV type 1 last summer after kissing a girl. A dose of Acyclovir took care of that. But I haven't had any symptoms since then and I feel like I need to know if I have it or not I'd just rather not pay $275 for the single type specific herpes test from the doctor, only to learn later that it wasn't herpes but some other STD that I didn't know to get tested for. If the Diagnostic center can test for all of them isn't it better to know? Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
