Question: hey yall, 2 yrs ago i got tested for herpes and something else and all the symptoms i had were of a yeast infection.anyways soo i waited a week for my results the doctor did a swab... anyways so the doctor said i was positive with it... now i never seen the test results but shortly after i got pregnant and tested for everything and i mean everything in gods given book for stds i got tested 2 times when i was pregnant.. well i got the tested for herpes twice and both negitive and i had the test results in hand... well just the other day i got this irrotation.... and i have no idea what it is cuz im having symptons of a yeast infection... minus the burning.... but could the first test be accurate?? like it looks like it maybe herpes but i have no idea.... im afraid to get tested agian.... but is it possible the first test was wrong? Answer: If you got a positive result from a swab I would consider that a reliable test result. The symptom you are describing is a common one that comes with hsv. You are lucky if that is the only symptom you experience. Are you pregnant now? Answer: A positive swab result is usually correct, but there's always a chance for a false positive. If by getting tested for herpes twice you mean you got type-specific blood tests, then I would go with the negative result. Answer: I understand that a positive swab is difficult to obtain because all factors must be present. The virus is apparently difficult to culture in a lab and this is why the test is considered to be very reliable if "positive." The blood tests on the other hand commonly have negative results when the patient actually has been infected. It comes down to detecting antibodies in the blood. There is quite a bit involved in antibody production. Answer: see i never seen the test results soo thats my problem because in the last 2 yrs ive had like 4 or 5 pap tests and nothing and blood work done like crazy. also i had my baby already Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
