More New Symptoms

Question:
I mentioned this elsewhere but thought it more appropriate for this thread.
The red rashy skin between my butt cheeks has now in 48 hrs. traveled to my vaginal area just on the sides of it and is moving upwards it seems. I sure hope it stops before going further but, how do I know this is really HSV not just a heat rash or some such?? I've had that before too. Or a yeast infection again? I haven't any thick discharge so that can't be it. I do have discharge that I can see now my period is almost over. Thin and white like before but not as watery. I'm so worried now it's disgusting. Every itchy spot on my body makes me wonder now. I know I'm feeling paranoid but can't help it.

The thing is I haven't any other symptoms, like pain or burning, just this rash on my arse. It itches like hell too. I put some anti itch creme on it which helps till you have to wipe it off again and I don't know if this creme could help spread the hsv or not. Can it??? Help!

Answer:
My ob is on my bum also. I have taken epsom salts baths and soaked for a while. I dry off with a fluffy soft towel. This has helped me get some relief. Caliope mentions an aveeno bath product for relief, but I've not tried it yet.
Try to relax.
I'm not sure I'd be putting creams on my ob there. I feel like I want to keep it nice and dry and cool. Even if it's a rash and not an OB the epsom salts can give you some relief.

have you taken any suppliments or meds for your ob yet?

Answer:
Try not to use any anti-itch medications that contain cortisone it can make stuff worse. The only one I found that worked that did not have cortisone was from Monistat it was a spray and contained pramoxine to stop itch. I liked that I didn't have to touch anything just spritz it on and I could carry it in my purse.

The Aveeno Active Naturals bath powder for the relief of itch for poison oak is very soothing. I also like the epsom salts because they sooth muscle pain (inexpensive too). My friend swears by the Domeboro. I found it at my pharmacy and it comes in several packets and it causes blisters to dry quickly and speed healing. (I haven't had an ob like that to try it on)

I've concluded that hsv probably triggers yeast. Try to include remedies to combat yeast if you can. I take daily probiotics for this plus I found that there is one organism in the probiotics that fights viral infections. Eating organic yogurt with live cultures can help (if you can eat dairy foods).

I have applied organic, sugar free, fat free yogurt topically to my ob's and it seemed to sooth but I wasn't going to leave the house that way. I've even added to the bath and just soaked. If there is yeast present it will take care of it.

If the ob is painful I found it is nice to air dry with the hair dryer on low.

Answer:
Thank yous to both ladies.

I've tried the Epsom salts and am happy with that so far. I'll have to try the yogurt idea, thanks. I do like to eat that and do so almost daily anyway. That creme I have is by Monistat and it seems to have no cortisone, though the spray sounds easier to use than this. I have to swab it on with a cotton swab so its messy. Never tried probiotics though. I'll look into anything I haven't tried yet, so thanks for the ideas.
