How to help EX
Question: My ex-wife and I split a couple of months ago. She met a few guys and after one incident, she went to the doctor for testing. The test said, "History of exposure to herpese, all other STD's negative." She called me crying and telling me this but the doctor provided no additional information. She has no symptoms but what does this mean. It has been a month since she was with the guy. I have my own issues but they are separate from her health concerns. Does exposure mean she has it? Answer: yes. but it doesnt mean that she has outbreaks, or doesnt at all- its just shes been exposed to it- the virus is in her body= she has herpes. could have been before you, during you, or after you. tell her, get educated cause now her casual sex life cant be that casual anymore, theres a possibility of her spreading it to anyone. Answer: could also be oral herpes cold sores. Answer: you should be tested via herpes type specific blood testing, as it is likely you also carry the virus, if you dont know already or havent been tested. Carrying the virus or "being exposed" simply means you have herpes, even if you dont experience visible symptoms and also means you can still transmit it to anyone at any time without anything visible. Its easier for a doctor to say "you've been exposed to the virus, rather than "hey, you've got herpes" A previous exposure means that the antibodies in her blood indicated a past exposure. There are different antibodies in the body to herpes virus if you have it. Some indicate recent or current exposure and some indicate past exposure. But nothing is for certain, except that she definitely has the virus. Ask her if they said what type (1 or 2) as it could help narrow down where she might think she is infected. Answer: well, it looks like it was prior - so i have to get myself tested. she says she hast type 2 - but i don't know what that means. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
