does this sound like herpes?
Question: i will give you my history. i am a male and in a relationship for 4 years. about 9 months ago i moved to a warm climate. after a few months i got a sore on the bottom of my penis about half way up. i figured it was a pimple from sweating. then i got another sore a few months later similar location. i am a very active person jogging swimming etc. doctor figured it could be from being sweaty and being active, also from masturbating. both lasted a few weeks. then i got what appeard to be small blisters a week after the second sore spot. when i say sore i mean it was a red area about a 1/4 inch in diameter that was a bit swollen. there was no open skin. the blister appeared on the head of my penis on the right hand side. it was about 1 mm diameter. didn't pop just scabed over went away in a week. after that i made sure i did not stay in wet cloths and kept my groinn area clean and dry. 6 months later i got another red spot on the bottom side of my penis. it was there for about a week, then i got three little 1mm in dia on the left side just behind the head which scabed over. then just as they scabed up i got a red itch spot on my testicals which has some very tiny look like blisters but not sure. clear looking. red skin about an inch in area. now my question is could this be herpes. if so why would my girlfreind show no signs. and if i have had this for a long time why would i have not had an outbreak until just recent. and why would the outbreaks be one after another. please any info on this would be great. if there is something else this may be please let me know. i will be going to the doctor on monday so hopefully that will clear it up this time thanks. Answer: it could be, and because some people just dont show any signs, or you could have had it all along and just now showed symptoms, its just the way it is- your body and the virus decide on the outbreaks. one after the other, because either its genital type 2 which is more frequent, or because you are triggering them, ie stress, friction, sex, working out, your diet etc etc. Answer: your g/f could also be the carrier and have transmitted this to you at any time and she just might happen to not get visible outbreaks but can still shed it. Or you could have had it for years and only recently started to get outbreaks. Both of you need to be tested via blood work for both types and take it from there. Your situation is actually extemely common and to be honest it sounds exactly like herpes. Answer: thanks for the info. just wondering if anyone knows anything about scabies. i was looking online and noticed the pictures looked alot like what i have. but i don't think they go away on there own. wonder if they just don't itch as much for a while then itch again and cause redness. any info would be great Answer: scabies is not at all like herpes. scabies is body lice and they infest your skin and get underneath. it can spread quickly and itches like crazy cuz they're burrowing around in there. they do not come and go or cause blisters that scab up. I guess if you scratched like crazy you could get scabs but not the same at all. sounds like you have hsv to me. doesn't mean your gf has it but both need to get herpes specific blood work for 1 & 2 and if you have those sores get to the dr and have them swabbed. Answer: i agree they are not the same, but they do have similar effects. red itchy areas. small bumps. which can scab over. i am still getting checked for herpes on monday. but another thing that leads me to think its scabies is that since i moved to this new place, i have woken up at night with sever itch between my fingers. so bad that i would not be able to sleep and would scratch the area raw. i did not know this was a sign of scabies till today. so untill i get tested i will not know Answer: or its a sign of touching your bumps to much, and transfered it to your hand Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
