acyclovair

Question:
does anyone know how long you can stay on the acyclovair 400 mg 3 x day? I have been on it to begin 7 days. but 2 weeks later got another ob so i'm back on it. dr. said 5 days this time. this is end of day 4 with no end in sight for this ob. can i stay on it this time for 10 days or do i have to go off it after the 5 is up? she said i can take the suppression therapy of 400 mg 2x day. but i want to take the full shot to get rid of this damn ob. she won't talk to me because she doesn't think i have another ob. I'm not stupid. I'm in misery and i certainly know from the first one what an ob feels like.

Answer:
Honestly I've been taking the Acyclovir 3 times a day since probably the middle of April.

I started with the initial dosage of 3 times a day and made it almost a month at 2 times a day and started to have symptoms and upped it then. I have an incredibly stressful job.

When I refilled my rx last month I spoke to my pharmacist about it and she suggested I talk to my dr about maybe changing to another antiviral. The reason I haven't been taking Valtrex is because my health provider doesn't want to cover it as it is more expensive but the pharmacist explained that I gave it a try and it may not be working well enough and in that situation the dr needs to prescribe what works.

This month has been hell at work and I can't deal with a dr's appt but will be contacting him soon and maybe changing to something new.

I'm sharing my experience and I haven't seen any negative side effects to taking it 3 times a day. I make sure I drink lots of water. However, I do feel I should be getting better results and this is why I will contact my dr.

What I'd ask you is if you are doing anything else to help with your ob's? Have you tried vitamins, or changing your diet to avoid foods high in arginine or otherwise hsv trigger foods? Are you staying away from activities that compromise your immune system? What about steroids for asthma or allergies?

Have you looked at this link?
