Ok maybe Im the only one with this...im SO itchy! Its making me crazy. Anyone have an idea how to get rid of the itch. I started my Valtrex today too! So far no side effects...

Ahhh the itch. I bet nearly all of us know that itchy feeling. It is probably what drives me the most crazy. Someone explained that it is actually a pain response in the nerve. I HATE IT!

A couple of things that have helped me: Putting a thin layer of vaseline or a&d ointment over the affected area makes it a wee bit less sensitive. I found a spray from Monistat called Soothing Naturals and it has an ingredient in it called pramoxine and since its a spray you can apply it easily. I stings a tiny bit and then causes a warming sensation but it helps. I'll take baths with Aveeno Active Naturals bath powder for poison oak or with Epsom salts. Try not to scratch.

Don't use products that contain hydrocortisone they can make it worse.

I usually find myself uttering words like "fucking bitch" and "whore" in honor of the one who made me so itchy.

Then I go grab a thick pair of jeans and have at it.

lol I find myself using those words too and missing the old days (like 4 days ago!) when I could just have a good scratch! Errr! I found that using unscented baby wipes not only help when I have an ob, but also they kinda take away the itch...and they are soft and a lil soothing!
