This came up 3 days after having sex with a girl I dont know very well. This is the only symptom...did anyone else ever have something similar, and what did it turn out to be? Does this look like herpes possibly?

Go to the dr and have them swab that area and take a herpes specific blood test. If you wait too long to get tested it will be harder to diagnose.

If you can't be diagnosed and find out what is wrong you have no business having sexual relations with anyone because you could infect them.

How long would you want to have to go without sex if it ends up not being something?

looks like how I experience some of my symptoms......looks exactly like that and its in my upper pubic hair. Get a herpes type specific blood test, and ask them to take a swab in addition if possible. Mine looked like that and they said it couldnt be swabbed so dont rely too much on that test because even if they could swab it, there is tons of potential for a false negative for a lot of reasons. So, get a blood test too and if you get a negative test result for the blood at first, then wait 6 weeks and get another one.......its the only way to try and be sure, as it can sometimes take antibodies a longer time to show up in the blood when you get herpes.
