I recently got tested for herpes,and all other STD's. The doc said the other ones were back negative, but the herpes one wasnt back? Is this normal? I would assume they all took the same amount of time. Do you think she is just stalling to tell me. I'm almost positive I have it, so I'm just waiting for the bad news. it took a week to get all the other results, and she said the herpes one would take another 4 or 5 days.

I also got tested for std's and my doc said the herpes test took longer.. She said it would take about 2 weeks and the others were in within 3-5 days.

1 time, took more then a week because it was the x-mas, new year holdiday vacations.

they might have sent the herpes test out to a diff lab?

Yes it can take longer for herpes testing. Clinics send urine/blood out to labs, and those labs can vend it out to yet another lab (as in my case). Plus some labs save up samples to be done in large batches on certain days of the week to save money, like herpes tests on Tuesday and syphillis tests on Thursdays, etc... My urine test results always came back on a different date than my blood/herpes results.

i had blood drawn on a friday morning and the following tues received the dreaded call from doctor with positive results for hsv 1 and 2. was NOT a happy day:(
