Boyfriend needs to be tested
Question: I apologize if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't find anything specific to this. I just got diagnosed with HSV. So if I'm currently having an outbreak and my boyfriend is showing no symptoms will he test positive for herpes? I haven't been with anyone else so I know I had to have gotten it from him. I just didn't know if there was a chance he would test negative. Thanks for your hlep. Answer: he could get blood work done; but if he is just newly infected, he may test negative for several months, as it could take several months for the antibodies to show up. if he has visible sores, rash, etc. he could get a swab test done. there are many more knowledge people on this site regarding this, but i thought i would give you some help till the others jump in here and help ya out! Answer: well did you have sex with him during or right before your outbreak? he def needs to be tested, if he gets tested now- and it shows up positive, either he always had it, and just never gets symptoms- or you gave it to him sometime and he still just doesnt show symptoms- both are normal. if he test neg now- get him tested again in about a month. if he still test neg, get tested oh i would go for a total of 3 test in monthly intervals. to be sure Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
