Omfg!
Question: I FINALLY got the results back on my test and guess what? I am negative for both type 1 and type 2. I asked the girl how likely the results were false. She asked how long I thought I had it before I got tested (16 weeks) and if I still felt like I was having symptoms and stuff and she said the possibility of getting a false negative for me was extremely slim. I am now going to follow up with my gyn because maybe it is just a nasty bacterial infection. Although, I am still wondering if its a false negative. I guess I will know if he actually finds something else wrong with me. Answer: GREAT News for you!!! If you were hsv1 positive there is fairly slim chance your blood test was wrong due to longer seroconversion but with a negative on hsv1 as well the likelihood of you having hsv2 is VERY slim. (like 95% chance or higher at 4 months.) Please let us know how this works out for you because my symptoms are so darn similar! ;-) Answer: After I got the results, I of course started getting premenstrual symptoms. So decided to wait to call my gyn. I had hoped that maybe I was causing these symptoms mentally or maybe from poking around too much. The symptoms have gotten milder but not completely relieved. I mean, I am itchy still but not extremely itchy. I have my period right now. I am a little nervous because the last two days I've been having head cold symptoms - sneezing, runny nose, general rundown feeling. And today I was feeling a little burning sensation in my vagina. But I still cannot see anything that looks like H (yeah, I looked today with a mirror & rubber gloves on). OMG! I really hope my results weren't false! I am going to call my doc tomorrow and see if I can get in there Monday or Tuesday. I'm just freaking because if he does more testing I don't know if I can get him to send it to another lab. I guess I will have to tell him. I just feel like such an ass having to retell my whole sordit story over & over again. I wish this crap would stop! Answer: Just want to let you know that I've been looking into the Pudendal nerve which H uses to cause outbreaks. This nerve serves basically your entire region "down there". When a person suspects they have H they tend to do gymnastics trying to get a better look at what might be going on. This can also cause irritation to that nerve which is a self fulfilling prophecy. When the nerve is irritated it can cause sensations of burning, tingling, hairpulling feeling which causes someone to check even more. Often this is when very light touch such as underwear rub but if you actually touch the area it will go away. (I'm not sure about itching, but will check later today for you!) Sometimes the sensations are relieved by standing. One person did so much checking they actually had to have surgery to relieve the nerve symptoms. AND they didnt' have H afterall. Just something to ponder....There are several recommendations for nerve irritation such as stretching, donut seat, change your sitting position. Lookup Pudendal Nerve Entrapment (PNE) if you want to see info on it. It's an area pretty limited in research but it's interesting. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
