Welcome to www.thanktoday.com !!!

i know i have it so...

Question:
whats the point of going to my docter if i am positive thats what it is... what else could it possibly be, and if i know i have it, whats the docter going to be able to do. My outbreaks are fairly mild, however they are also fairly often. I usually just get one or 2 small blisters on the mound of hair   and thats it. My steady bf and I have not changed one bit, and we have been together so long. I know where i got it, (i dont sleep around) and i haven't slept with anyone since, so whats the point of embarrasing myself at the docter?? Thanks, ... oh and not to mention i dont have a regular docter so i would have to go to a clinic :S:S

Answer:
still go check, you never know

Answer:
It could be - do the blisters always happen in the same exact location? They can happen in hairy areas but those are sometimes ingrown hairs, herpes usually (but not always) prefers a warm moist place like mucous membranes. Then there are always simple zits, blood boils, impetigo, warts,... all kinds of skin ailments that you ptobably should not be trying to diagnose yourself. For one thing a doctor can prescribe meds to help control the outbreaks, if it is herpes. If it is herpes they can prescribe meds to shorten the length of the outbreak and the pain. THey can prescribe meds to greatly reduce the chance of you passing it on to your sex partner(s). They can warn you about what to do if you have herpes, how to protect an unborm child from contracting it.

Here's what you do, next time you have what you think is an outbreak, get on over to planned parenthood or 'the clinic' in town, and get seen that day. They see STD's day in and day out and can probably tell you on site whet they think it is, plus do the low cost tests to confirm. They are experts at counseling and will provide you good factual info and low cost meds if you need them.

It's easy to want to go into denial though, or depression, and not want to talk about it or pretend we don't have it, stick our heads in the sand by not getting it medically acknowledged. It doesn't work, if you have it, you may be doing silly things like infecting others by not 'dealing'. Just go get diagnosed to make sure, and then you're over that hurdlle, you're on the road to healing as much as you can and being responsible.

Good luck-
