is swelling possible?Please help!!

Question:
Hi everyone,

I really hope that someone can answer this. I ve had herpes for 10 years, but for 8 without knowing. The first time and the second time I just had a few blisters.
For the past couple of days I ve had this very strange swelling in between my vagina and anus. It's as if these little lips were very swollen and that a lump of skin had appeared. Then the glands in my groin started hurting a lot, I could feel it to the top of my leg. Since yesterday a few blisters have appeared on the swollen skin, but the pain in my groin is going down.
Is this just a regular herpes outbreak? It's only the third one I ve had and the other two didn't have the swelling. I can't afford to go to the doctor as I don't have insurance. I m not taking any medecin as last time it just went away after 4 or 5 days.
Will the swelling just dissapear completely? Please tell me if anyone has had this and if it is just part of the normal symptoms! Thanks!! I m freaking out of being deformed!

Answer:
Sometimes you can get swelling from an outbreak (I had some swelling)... and swollen lymph nodes are fairly common.

I'd say go to the doc but since you can't afford to, it really is probably just part of your outbreak - some are worse than others. If it doesn't get better soon you might have to get it checked out no matter what, but hopefully your swelling will subside as your OB heals up.

Answer:
From my personal experience most of my outbreaks vary. Sometimes i can feel tingling before an outbreak and sometimes i dont even feel it coming. I just had an outbreak where i had throbbing pains off to the side of my vagina for a day and then I had some nerve ending pain shoot down my legs. I have never had these symptoms before. If you are going through a hard time and are stressed out, not eating properly, or not getting enough sleep, this could have weakened your immune system and your outbreak could be more severe then normal. I hate the fact you get used to your outbreak then the little buggers decide to change tactics

Answer:
That's exactly what I was thinking! I could live with knowing what is happening to me...it's just that if it changes then you go through teh whole feak out thing again!
Thanks for your help, it did make me feel much better

Answer:
anytime :) we all go through it

I have lived with GH for 4 almost 5 years and my symptoms always follow a pattern. I feel real tired...run down, then I get a tingling at the site, I have known those to have swelling in the groin or area...mine usually is a pain from my butt down the back side of my leg to the back of my heel. It feels like a giant bruise from my butt to my heel. It used to be a few days later I would get a small Ob...but these days I normally just get the SX and then nothing comes of it. My husband, however, gets the same sx and then a pretty hefty Ob...it just varies from person to person. Stress...is a big cause of Ob in my case and his. The less stress the less ob. I took a stress management course to help with that and have done better. I have experienced rare ob's over the past couple years. Make sure to keep your immune system up...get enough sleep...My husbands sx vary, mine stay pretty much the same. I may have 2 ob a year now and he has 6 or so. He really need meds I think, and I am thinking about it too...maybe I will have none after that...:p
