first outbreak or not??
Question: As I mentioned in my previous posts I have no idea where I got this but I'm not sure if this was my first outbreak or not. I had recurring vaginal "yeast" infections for years and years with never any help from a doctor. This is the first time I've ever had any blisters there, or at least any that I really noticed. I do not however have a fever at all. The doctor said the outbreak looked kind of in-between and couldn't say if it was a primary outbreak or not. I got my first blister a week ago today and I have about 20 of them that I can see with a mirror. I was getting more and more and since I took the famvir that he gave me on thursday I haven't sprouted any new ones, but I'm waiting for these rotten things to heal. Also yesterday and today I have been getting some leg cramps. Is that a symptom of this or is it because I haven't been working out like I usually do?? I was wondering what everyone else's first outbreaks were like because I don't have a fever....does everyone get a fever the first time?? This may have gotten worse if the Dr hadn't given me anything because it was getting SO SO painful before I took the meds. Hopefully they will work for me. I am also finally giving up my diet pepsi habit. I was drinking a ton of extra pop the week of my OB because I was planning on weaning myself off of it and wanted one last splurge.... Answer: Mine first OB was like h^%@$^. I had never been exposed to HSV1 or 2 before. Mine started with a fever of 102 and major fatigue, and then I started to ache in my lower back, buttocks and upper legs. After that I noticed things weren't right with my girly parts... a little discharge... then it started to hurt to pee, and then my lymph nodes were swollen (at my groin but also on my neck and under my arms). Finally I started to realize there were deep bumps - once they really started to show up I was covered. I did get Valtrex but since I didn't show any signs genitally at first I prolly got started on it a little late, and it took a little over 3 weeks for all the bumps to heal up. During the first 2 weeks I was sick as a dog and even lost even lost 5 lbs (and I'm not overweight at all). However, some people don't get a big outbreak like mine... so it's hard to say whether something is a primary outbreak... if you get tested asap and don't have detectable antibodies it usually means your exposure is recent. Even the earliest tests typically won't show up for 3 weeks, and that is the extreme end ...for most people it can take months... Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
