Herpes or not? Oral sex exposure

Question:
Had a rough oral sex session approx. two months ago. Ever since I have had tons of symptoms like:

+3-6 days; red scrotum, itch in genitals, a bit yellowish glans

+7-15 days; pain in urehtha, itch in genitals, reddish (fore-)skin, no discharge, no blisters or sores of any kind

+17 days; chlamydia+gonorrhea+hiv p24 antigen tests negative, doctor says that everything looks normal, and that does not look like herpes

+ 4 weeks; one pimple looking sore on inner thigh, painful and burning one, goes away in a day or so. every day at least itch and most of the time this clear but controllable pain in uretha. peeing does not hurt.

+45 days; complete tests again, including syphilis and herpes this time and the ones mentioned earlier, all negative again. still itch in groin area and sometimes in my arms and thighs as well, numbness and mild pain in urehta. doctor gives a 10d prescription of two different antibiotics.

+ 2 months; took antibiotics without any result, still itch and pain in uretha. no clear signs of anything unusual.

+ 9,5 weeks, went to see another dermatologist; says that she doubts that it is herpes even though scrotum looks a bit irritated. gives some salva for skin infection.

+10 weeks, still a bit irritated skin, uretha becoming irritated again, does not look as healty as at some point in between, anyhow peeing does not hurt.

Can it be that I do have herpes even though none of the specialists I've seen have come to that conclusion? They say (and I have read) that herpes symptoms should not last this long, and typically you can see some blisters at some point during the outbreak. I have also given thought for HPV, but I guess it shouldn't hurt like this and would not develop so soon after possible exposure. I have also tried taking zinc and L-lysine without any effect. A pill intended for internal yeast growth, as well as a salva for external yeast treatment did not help either. I guess the situation I was in was risky since I did not have HSV1 and the contact was a bit rough. As majority of people have hsv1 orally, I could bet a million bucks that this partner definitely had it.

Answer:
I would either go to an Std clinic or back to the doctor to get a swab test. Probably would get blood work done again in a month or two. Hopefully, you are not positive.

Answer:
One MD and three doctors specialized in STDs have already seen my genitals (one of them twice) but they all said that is does not look like herpes, and there is nothing to swab, no blisters or cuts - maybe a bit reddish and shiny skin from time to time. (I have visited @ doc1 +3 days [too soon for herpes though], doc2 @ +17d, doc3 @ +17d and +45d and doc4 @ about +70d after possible exposure).

I think I will have to get a fourth opinion, and will definitely have another blood test done later, that is for sure, but I would still like to hear comments from people who have experienced outbreaks themselves. Continues symptoms 8 weeks in a row does not sound like herpes to me, at least what I've read about it. Additionally, yesterday the slight burning sensation inside my uretha came back again, but it does not hurt any more when I urinate, weird. Moreover, when I woke up, my mouth felt like I had glue in it, tongue was completely white, covered in oral thrust (or how do you spell it?). I suppose the latter symptom at least has nothing to do with herpes, but is just normal bacteria that just happens to be a bit wilder at the moment. Right?

At this point I've already began to hope I had herpes, so that I could try valtrex or something else, since this situation eats me up inside since no one can tell me what is going on.

Ps. There is no possibility to reach the person I made my mistake with, so I can't get her tested either.

Answer:
Continuous symptoms, especially itching actually happens with quite a few people who contract herpes, especially at first. After reading these forums for a bit you also realize that many cases of herpes look atypical, so it's really hard to say exactly what it should look like, except it can present as rashes, cut-like sores, blisters, redness, the whole gamut...

If your tongue is white, that does sound like oral thrush. If it's oral thrush, it will often bleed slightly if you scrape it. You might want to rule out some type of yeast infection (except you already took a pill for yeast...hmmm - maybe you have a really tough infection, or it's resistant to the medication you took). Maybe the course of antibiotics you went on got you out of balance and that's why you are showing the thrush-like symptoms. Oh, and just to add, if you just got a little out of balance and have a very mild case, supposedly eating unsweetened yogurt or taking acidophilus can help... altho not sure if your case is mild or not..

Unfortunately yeast and herpes can present with similar symptoms on the genitals, and in many cases people assume it's yeast, and then go on about their life spreading herpes, although in your case you probably want to keep testing for both until you figure out what is wrong.

Sorry the docs can't figure you out... wishing you good luck with that soon...

Answer:
it's probably too that the antibiotics I took maybe caused some yeast to my mouth or something. anyway, I hope a blood test confirm my suspicions soon. Lately itching has not been that bad of a problem anymore, but the pain in my urethra has come back and is causing most of the pain now.

Is herpes known to cause inflammation of urethra also and if so, do the symptoms inside urethra repeat in connection of every outbreak? So far I haven't seen any info that this could go on and go for 9 weeks like in my case, but apparently it can be so :(

Answer:
sadly, yes, herp can get in the urethra and cause pain/inflammation... it's not supposed to be that common but again, it does happen...

outbreaks can follow the same pattern and in some people they can predict exactly where there outbreak is gonna be... but sometimes they don't (and even for the predictable people sometimes it changes for some reason).

Not that it will make you feel better, but after i picked up H I had constant OBs till I started suppressive therapy... constant as in I didn't go more than 2 days without some type of bump/lesion/ulcer-type sore and everyday there were prodromal symptoms. H symptoms really can go non-stop in some people...

Answer:
thiscantbe, what is this suppressive therapy you used? I have heard the words somewhere else also, but since English is not my mother tongue, I really have no clue what it means. Is it just taking medicine/valtrex etc. even though there is no outbreak going on, or are we talking about something else?

Answer:
Yeah, it's drugs... acyclovir, Valtrex, Famciclovir, etc. are all considered suppressive therapy if you take the meds daily whether you have an outbreak or not. If H is making your life a living Hell, they are an option worth considering.
