Guess I'm writting here just for some support.... I'm off to the doctor in a few hours so I'l have more of a clue then.
It all started a week ago when I had sex with a man I don't know very well. the condom broke. A few days later I felt a bit sore and thought I had a touch of cystitis (I've had it before) also thought I'd bruised my thighs a bit due to overenthusiasm! Now I can hardly walk due to the glands at the tops of my legs being so painfull. I feel fluey and exhasted(maybe due to lack of sleep though) I also examined myself in the night as I was in loads of pain and discovered three really quite large whitish blisters around my genital region. Any ideas if this sounds like herpes? I'm terrified. please help.

The sad news is that a flu-ish feeling, exhaustion, swollen glands and blisters all sound a lot like a herpes. :(

Your doc can take a culture of the bumps, and if the culture works you can find out an answer pretty quickly. You can also have a blood test done, altho they typically don't show up positive until 3weeks-4months after exposure.

You should get into the dr right away. The best time to culture the sores or blisters is when they are very new and if the dr can prescribe an antiviral it will speed up your recovery and reduce the severity of your infection if it is herpes.
