Question:
I got tested for herpes a week ago and I got the results yesterday. I have had and intercourse, protected on May 4, 2007.

I am not sure what tests were done. I got HSV IgG Positive and HSV IgM negative. My doctor said I have not contracted new HSV but already had been infected.

Can anyone please elaborate? And how do I take the medications?

it means you didnt get herpes recently........in the last few weeks or month or two, but that you have HAD it for a while and contracted it longer ago than that time period. Your doctor should have prescribed meds. to you if they thought you should be on them and they would have said when and how to take the meds. and on the bottle of the pills it says how often and how many pills to take so look on there or call your doctor and tell them you are unclear on how to take the meds.
