could it be?

Question:
first time posting here. thank god i found this site. here is my story.

well i had a steady girlfriend for 3 years until about a month ago. since then i haven't been with any new partners except for last night. me and my ex both got tested right before we broke up so i know we were both clean. anyways... last night i was having intercourse with a new partner. i started off using a condom but it broke in the middle of it so we both stopped having sex. today i woke up and everything looked and felt normal but my penis temperature is really high. its kinda like a burn sensation but it doesnt hurt. its not like a UTI burning pain... more just like a hot penis. this worries me. i made an appointment to get tested but i cant get in until Tuesday morning. should i be worried about this one? does it sound like the beginning of herpes? ive been surfing the net all day looking at symptoms of other STD's and it lead me to here. i should also mention the condom had a spermicide on it which may have caused the hot sensation. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
It is not unusual to have an allergic reaction to things like that. I get that reaction from latex in general. The fact that it is happening so fast could be from the spermicide.

You should talk to your new partner about std testing etc. and at least share your concerns. Her answers may eleviate some of your worry but go ahead and see your dr just to be sure and specifically ask for testing for hsv 1 & 2 and hiv while you're at it.

Just a note if you were infected recently hsv will not show up in blood testing - it usually takes at least 8 weeks for antibodies to develop enough to show up in the test. A swab test will show it sooner if you have it done right when any symptoms are new.
