I'm Not sure...
Question: Hi there...um, so i started noticing this one sore on me and pretty much didnt think any of it but then another one appeared ( genitals I'm talking about ) Thats when i started freaking out wondering. I was hoping it was nothing to worry about but I guess I could be wrong. Here's the thing...I'm reading all this info about Herpes trying to get a grasp or idea. I know getting checked is the easiest way but I just need to know a few things. Sites say that an outbreak ranges for different people but mostly all say that the Primary Outbreak usually is the painful one. Its been 3-4 days since the sores and some small blisters appeared, granted...but description says that a PO usually is painful...its not with me. Now the other thing is theres a small little inner lump on my pelvis...like a swollen something, but if feels like a bruise or something. Now the other thing is that theres no discharge or burning sensation going on when i use the bathroom. Oh and I don't have fever like symptoms...this is already like 4 days in so thats why I'm in a loop right now. What I'm getting at is, could I be wrong. Could this be because I shaved my pubic area down a day before I had sex with someone? Could it be the something aside from herpes? I don't know? If these seems like it to anyone let me know please. If it is that I have herpes, fine...i'll have to deal right? But i'm still latching on to the idea of it just being something else...maybe a fungus or something like jock itch. ( A man can hope right?) Thanks.... Answer: The only way to know for sure is to go and get tested. Sooner is better than later if you have actual sores that the dr can look at and maybe swab. It is smart to get bloodwork done however new infections often will not show antibodies. The descriptions you find on the internet for herpes often are misleading and no one has the same exact symptoms. If it is herpes the sores will usually return at a later time and you could accidentally infect someone else in the mean time. It is not normal to have itching, or sores in the genital area and this is why you need to have a dr give you their opinion. It it ends up being something else at least you can get treatment and avoid any discomfort. Usually shaving doesn't cause swelling and large lumps or bruising.
