I noticed a bump and so started my Valtrex- I have completed the meds and the bump is completely unchanged. I have one large bump- doesn't look like a blister, or a pimple, really only hurts when I touch it- I am a little itchy but it just doesn't feel like this is an outbreak but I always play it VERY safe as my husband of 21 years has never comtracted it. I know I should go to the doctor but that eats up most of the day. I'm going to try hot compressed to see if that helps. ANy ideas?:confused:

it takes a few days if you are not taking the medicine on a daily basis for it to kick in and you to start noticing a difference. how long did you take the meds for so far?

you can always add lysine to your routine to help you out.

the script is five days. Usually it helps right away. This time nothing, no change at all.
How do you take lysine?

Wow, we share deeply personal stuff here...so the hot compresses made it look like a really big pimple which burst, there was a tiny bit of pus and a bit of blood. Maybe it WAS an ingrown hair.
