another is it.......

Question:
Well, I'm pretty sure mine is, but guess I need to hear it from somebody else. Had a yeast infection last week (had been on some antibiotics and chalked the yeast infection up to that). Also i had had a pretty "active" weekend with my boyfriend before the occurance of the yeast infection and was noticing that i was bit sore from that. It seemed like the yeast infection was bit slow in subsiding and this morning i noticed a bump on my inner labial wall. I grabbed a mirror and inspected it. It was red and raised and looked maybe like it was fluid filled. As the day progressed it became the size of a small pea, was very painful and upon further inspection had a "head" on it like a zit that's about ready to pop. It was really bothering me and I was at work so I went and got a sterile needle (i work in the medical field) and lanced it upon which a good deal of pussy looking stuff came out. The bump has shrunk down some now and feels a lot better. I have noticed no other bumps, but in my reading up on this it said that the bump becomes a fluid filled sack and then erupts leaving an ulcer and then crusts over. My bump is still a bump, nothing like an ulcer. Is this just another form of it? Its not a ingrown hair because there's no hair on my inner labia!!!!! My boyfriend has been my only sexual partner for quite some time and i have never had anything like this and he has never told me that he has herpes. Not sure if this can lay dormant for months on end before the first outbreak. Its been 7 months since i have been with somebody else.

Answer:
i've been with my boyfriend for 7 months and just got it...so it can lay dormant. as for herepes...i don't know if it is or not you
ll have to see a doctor...i can tell you personally, from my experiences, there is no way in hell i could touch one of my blisters or even think about poping them...they are TOO painfull, and you can't pee at all you want to scream if you try. so maybe it's something else...or maybe it's just the begining? i dunno. but good luck!

Answer:
To Stressed Girl: Don't be so sure as to immediately assume you have herpes. I know a number of people who have similiar sores during a yeast infections, and it is often misdiagnosed as herpes. Make sure you get a swab test done on your sore just to make sure. From what you have told, I STRONGLY suspect it is not herpes. It sounds as though you were fairly "irritated" down there from the weekend with your boyfriend plus being on antibiotics, and perhaps even your immune system was down, and it resulted in an infection in one of the most sensitive areas of your body. I have had friends who even used a yeast infection treatment, and they reacted to it and it caused sores in that area, only to be told by doctors "it's herpes". I'm speaking from experience - I recently had sores appear after flu symptoms, and was absolutely convinced I had herpes even though I have not been sexually active for 3 years! (the first outbreak sometimes takes years to appear, I have learned) I had three different doctors see me (two of which said "it definately looks like herpes") and two swab tests taken, and have recently found out that my swab tests were all negative. And I was assured that a negative test means a negative test, "false-negatives" are extremely unlikely and rare. My sores looked alot like the ones you described - one appeared as a red bump on my labia, and sort of turned into a zit - it looked like it had a pussy head. I didn't pop mine, but it went away within 7 days.
I have no idea what happened to me, and I will probably never know, but I am rest assured it wasn't herpes. I just wanted you to know that there are many, many other things that can happen to our bodies that can be misdiagnosed as herpes, so make sure you investigate thoroughly - getting that swab test is the only way to know for sure. Take care.

Answer:
Just an added opinion from a different viewpoint because anothergirls view also makes sense. Ultimately a cultrue test is best. With herpes a positive test is pos. and negative is neg.
Your description to me sounds like a possible h-virus strand. Red raised and fluid filled that grew into a pea size. The fluid part of the virus is kinda translucentish white. The inflamed area is what is red. Some of my very tiny ones has a little white head at the tip when it first starts out before it has grown into a pea size. Vey few have but it does happen.
I have also took to draining mine and lots of fluid comes out right away. Clear fluid. Well, the bigger the more fluid. The smaller the less. But the instant i lance it oh the relief of excruciating pain is gone and feels so much better. The relief of pain from releasing the pressure of the fluid. I would definitely get a culture since you have more than one differing opinion. I don't know much about other STDs but I sure do know about herpes.

a head

I still have to go get tested, but...I sort of get something similar.

I came to this forum looking for advice and symptoms that are less general. I've been finding that stuff. You regular posters are great for sharing your knowledge. I hope that came out right.
