Herpes Simplex Causes Cankersores?
Question: Hello, I think I was exposed to the herpes simplex virus a few weeks ago and have experience back pain, pain in legs and feet. Are those symptoms? No signs of any outbreaks except I have this very painful cankersore in my mouth. Can the herpes simplex cause cankersores?? Answer: I have this very painful cankersore in my mouth. Can the herpes simplex cause cankersores?? Yes... Cankersores fall under the general category of 'mouth ulcers' and there can be a number of causes. herpes is only one cause of canker sore's. You can get a canker sore from just biting your cheek, or biting your lip... If you have a canker sore in a place that you KNOW you didn't bit your lip or cheek, then you can rule out that as a cause of the cankersore.. But that doesn't mean your canker sore came from HSV. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/000998.htm Answer: my understanding is that canker sores are not forms of HSV but cold sores are.
