I recently just took a Herpes Blood test that uses a type specific, glycoprotein G, technology. The test was administered about 6 weeks and 3 days after my exposure. I was deemed negative. What do you think of these results? Did I wait long enough to take the test or will I have to retest at a later date. I was ecstaic when I got the news but then I read you have to wait like 16 weeks for accurate results. I have seen no signs of any symptoms in those first 6 weeks so I mean shouldn't I have antibodies?? Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out. I'm a sick person I know and I will pay for my sins.

You have no signs, no symptom..? Why you doubt that you have it...?
If there is enough reason for you to suspect that you may be positive, I would wait the full 12 weeks and get the test again...

I just want to be sure that I don't have it. I am scared of ocular herpes and herpes enchephelitis. I do not want to go blind or crazy. Looks like I will re-test in 6-8 weeks. Putting my life on hold for another two months is ganan be hell. I also have yet to take my HIV test. To think I was happy this morning.

Does it make a difference if the testing facility that administered the test told me that for the test they give you wait 2-4 weeks or greater? I went 6.
