no stats just personal experiences please!
Question: hello everyone i havent yet been diagnosed but today is the day i think. i went to the doctor last tuesday so today will be day number 7 for the culture results to return. i have a few questions but i want personal experiences not statistics. y have some of u recieved meds b4 getting ur reslults back? does the doctor pretty much know right away? cuz my dr. said it looks like it but isnt sure. is that normal? has anyone been told it looked like herpes and it not be? also how many ppl recieved an OB within a month of recieving the disease? did anyone get other infections too? (bacterial/yeast) did anyone give oral to their partner but only got GH? is a headache common for asymptomatic shedding? did anyone have it for along time b4 their initital OB and not give it to their current partner? is it more common to OB within the month of recieving the disease (3-20) days? im just asking cuz im trying to figure out how the hell i could have got this. i have been having unprotected sex with this guy for three mos and after the last time we had sex i startes experiencing all these vaginal problems, bacterial infection, yeast symptoms and the the infamous blisters about 17 days later. but i also read about the things that could cause an OB and i qualified for half that stuff so that made me believe that mayb i had it for a long time and then certain factors just caused me to OB. because back in feb. i had unprotected sex with sum1 that very well could have given it to me but that was almost 8 mos ago! im jus so confused!! is it pretty likely that the guy i have unprotected sex with consistently for the last 3 mos gave it to me or jus sum random person from long ago? if i tell him do u think he will lie? or tell ppl? do u think he knows he had it? if he doesnt have it do yu think he will leave? do u think he will get tested and b honest baout the results? I REALLY care about him and I am pretty sure he gave it to me but it is possible i could have got it awhile back i just want to see how common that would be from other ppls personal experiences. also how is your sex life now after GH? anyone have unprotected sex and dont give it to their partner?? PLEASE HELP!!! Answer: I can only answer a few of those for myself: also how many ppl recieved an OB within a month of recieving the disease? I believe i got my first OB about a week after i got infected, and i've heard other similar stories. did anyone give oral to their partner but only got GH? I got GH because he gave me oral, but i didn't get oral from his mouth. I don't know how, but that's what happened. is it more common to OB within the month of recieving the disease (3-20) days? I believe it is. However, that doesn't mean you got it recently. It could have been dormant for an indeterminate amount of time, or you could have had an OB and not realized it. do u think he knows he had it? There are quite a few people who don't, who misinterpret the signs, who just never get tested if they have mild cases. There's really no telling. The rest of your questions i have no experience in. Hope some of that helped. Answer: -I had my primary OB 2 days after sex with my infector. -my doctor did give me medication right away as he said I had a 'classic' case, the bumps were obvious. he took culture and blood....i went to the doctor THAT VERY DAY THAT I HAD PHYSICAL SYMPTOMS.THE PAIN WAS SO BAD. -My doctor has told me (and this coincides with the research) that HSV has a very short incubation period (the period you come in contact with the virus up to the day you actually show physical symptoms). with other virus's the incubation period is much longer (i.e HIV) - Many people do not know they have it. I KNEW I had never had it b/c when my bloodwork came back, both my IGG and IGM were negative--proving recent (like 6 weeks recent) acquisition. - My 'infector' is not admitting it... so your guy may lie, he may not... it all comes down to the bloodwork. if your bloodwork comes back negative, he definitely gave it to you as your body has not yet had the virus long enough to build the antibodies.... if your test comes back positive, then you cannot know for sure how long you have had this. - My last sexual experience was also in February....and I didn't get it from him. I had him get tested---he was negative - as far as sex goes, I cannot even think about having sex with ANYONE until my 'infector' is held accountible for what he has done..... I do not have the desire at all to have sex... I am actually a little afraid to have sex in fear it may trigger an outbreak. hope this helped answer some of the questions....keep us posted on your results... and btw, if he runs/leaves you because of this, he is a loser and you don't need him Answer: Lets, see how many of those I can answer for you according to my own personal experiences. I received meds after I went into the doctor. I was in excruciating pain and very red after having sex with a new partner four days prior. She took one look at me and said that it was herpes. I started taking the meds and nothing really changed except that I got so tired that I could hardly get out of bed. A week later, the infection had cleared up and I got my culture test result back - NEGATIVE. So, I think that answers three of your questions...kinda... Although my culture came back negative, I think that it was a false negative. Since then, I have been treated for chlamydia (which came back negative too), bacterial vaginosis, cervicitis and a yeast infection. Yet, I'm still having symptoms. At this point, I don't believe that it could be anything else besides herpes. Waiting one more month to have the blood test done so I can put an end to this. I can't really say if the guy is going to lie or not, but with my personal experience, I've asked my past partners for the last year and all of them claim to be clean. So, I figure someone is lying or just doesn't know. Will it really help to know who it is anyhow? The only thing I can do is take care of my mental and physical health, get tested and take the proper meds if positive. I hope this helped at least a little! Answer: Thanks so much for getting back to me i appreciate your help its great to hear from ppl from "the other side" :) that sounds horrible! what i mean is its nice reading responses from ppl that can relate. well it has been confirmed and i have ghsv2 and my blood tests are positive too. :( this sux cuz i really want to know who gave me this, i have a pretty good idea but i guess ya nevr know. oh well..thanks again all!
