One more dumb question
Question: I am STILL having occasional discomfort down there. My question is thus - can you have bumps that do not scab over? These bumps are all over my scrotum and the underside and sides of my penis - they do not go away. Could you have say lesions in the hundreds? Thanks for the replies, Matt Answer: Matt - look into scabbies: follow this string: Answer: Actually they all think I just have some ingrown hairs or irritated skin. I guess I just was curious if anyone knew of having bumps that did not blister. Or having that many bumps. Nothing I have read or seen would suggest that herpes manifests itself in that nature. Thanks, Matt Answer: Is it just "chicken-skin?" could be your skin getting older - hard to say - who looks at other people's skin so closely? Maybe try looking at a site for dermatology - maybe see something farmiliar? Answer: Lasmom, Yes that is kind of what it resembles chicken skin. Is that normal??? Answer: OK - I am NO doctor, and not a man (last time I checked! ) but I will tell you this - When I first found out I has HSV - I obsessed looking at my skin - mostly on my labia and the inside crease - groin/upper thigh area. I pulled it, squeezed it, touched it - trying to find something - a bump, sore, pimple, whatever so I'll know what was normal, what wasn't. All because when I had my first outbreaks, I thought it was pimples - and that I had irritated that skin from popping the pimples and that's why I had multiple sores. It all happened on the edge of the hairline - where my skin was like "chicken skin" ("cs") - when I inspected it closely. So I started thinking the "bumps" or "cs" was herpes - it's not. It's just different skin there because of pubic hair, glands, etc... in fact I had an ingrown hair there recently - pubic hairs have crazy long wiry roots - maybe thats why the "chicken skin"...the coincidence was that my outbreak was in that area, and the sores were the same size/pattern as the "cs" - plus I was scared/paranoid until I said to my friend - "is your skin there like "cs" - and she laughed and said - yeah kindof -funny..." We also discussed how skin changes as we age - maybe that is a factor - I certainly never inspected myself so colosely before... In fact - we had a conversation somewhere here about it before - with Pilot... and I told him that - So - my unproffessional opinion - normal - but if you are that concerned - ask a friend, doctor whomever to validate that for you - ask your doc - "this is normal skin right?" find out for sure so you can get some sleep - I lost about 2 weeks over that... Sorry I went on so long - just thought I'd spill it all if someone else may have similar questions... Freakin Chickens.... :D Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
